an indirect enzyme–linked immunosorbent assay (elisa) was developed for screening of antibody to avian infectious bronchitis virus (ibv). antigen was prepared from whole-purified ibv massachusetts serotype (br 801 strain). optimum dilution with minimum background for antigen concentration, rabbit anti-chicken conjugate and sera in developed elisa was determined 0.1μg/ml, 1:3000 and 1:100, respectively. the optical densities (od) were compared with a commercial elisa kit. also, the results of elisa were compared to hemagglutination inhibition (hi) test. the correlation coefficient of the results of both elisas and hi was significant (p

Standardization of an Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay for Detection of Infectious Bronchitis Virus Antibody.

An indirect enzyme–linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was developed for screening of antibody to avian infectious bronchitis virus (IBV). Optimum dilution with minimum background for antigen concentration, rabbit anti-chicken conjugate and sera in developed ELISA was determined 0.1μg/ml, 1:3000 and 1:100, respe...

Adaptation of an indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay by purified gp51SU for detection of antibodies to bovine leukemia virus

The objective of this study was to compare an indirect ELISA, based on a purified 60 kDa envelope glycoprotein (gp51SU), with a Pourquire indirect ELISA for the detection of antibodies to the bovine leukemia virus. For conducting this research, 340 serum samples were collected from two different breeds of cows (Sarabi and Holestin) in different herds. Commercial ELISA revealed positive results ...

Development of a recombinant protein-based dot-blot hybridization assay for the detection of antibody to chicken infectious bronchitis virus

Nucleocapsid (N) protein of infectious bronchitis virus (IBV), one of the viral structural proteins, inducesstrong antibody response in natural infection. In this study, a simple, recombinant N protein-based dot-blottest was developed to serologically examine chicken serum samples for the presence of IBV antibody.Initially, 72 serum samples were tested for the presence of IBV antibody using a c...

Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for detection of measles antibody.

An enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was developed for the detection of measles immunoglobulin G antibody (MEASELISA). This assay was found to be comparable to the measles hemagglutination inhibition (HAI) test. Approximately 500 sera from three centers were tested by MEASELISA and the HAI test. MEASELISA demonstrated values of greater than 99% for sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy...

Microplate enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for bovine leukemia virus antibody.

A microplate enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay method was developed for the measurement of bovine immunoglobulin G antibody specific to the envelope antigen (glycoprotein 60) of bovine leukemia virus. The test was then performed on 440 serum samples from dairy cows belonging to herds in which bovine leukemia was suspected or which were leukemia free, and the results were compared with those obt...

Enzyme-linked protein A: an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay reagent for detection of human immunoglobulin G and virus-specific antibody.

A general-purpose reagent capable of reacting with immunoglobulin G in a modified enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay technique was prepared by using protein A coupled with horseradish peroxidase. The reagent detected low levels (0.003 to 1.0 microgram/ml) of human immunoglobulin G and was also applied in an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for titration of antibody to human cytomegalovirus. The...
